Flour Bluff UP teacher nominated for prestigious national award

image of Flour Bluff ISD teacher Teena JonesTeena Jones, English teacher with the University Prep program, was recently selected as a Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction by The National Society of High School Scholars. Teena was nominated for outstanding dedication of commitment to excellence in the classroom by UPHS student, Lisa Vasquez.

Each year student members of NSHSS are invited to nominate the educator who has made the most significant contribution to their academic career.  According to a statement from the National Society of High School Scholars, this honor recognizes exemplary educators whose passion and devotion inspire their students to grow and develop as scholars, leaders and citizens.

Teena was presented a certificate honoring her as a Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction. She is also eligible to apply for grants to attend professional conferences and other professional development opportunities to enhance her classroom instruction.
