Informational meetings for parents of students interested in the University Prep program are set for Monday, January 23 and Tuesday, January 24. This is an opportunity to hear more about the program.
The University Preparatory High School is an early college high school that provides students an opportunity to earn college credits while attending high school. The District partners with Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi to provide students the ability to participate in college courses and achieve high school graduation requirements through rigorous coursework.
All 8th grade students are eligible to apply. Students who meet any of the following criteria will be given priority for entrance into the program:
- Students who desire to be first generation college graduates
- Students who are at risk of not graduating from high school
- Students who are considered economically disadvantaged
- Students who are English language learners
The two informational meetings will give parents an in-depth look into the program and include a question and answer session.
