Brian Schuss was named Flour Bluff ISD Superintendent of Schools in September 2016. He is the 13th Superintendent of Schools for Flour Bluff ISD.firstname.lastname@example.org
Prior to being selected to serve the students of FBISD, Schuss was the District’s Assistant Superintendent for Business Services for eight years. As Assistant Superintendent for Business Services, Mr. Schuss was at the helm of overseeing the financial stability of the District’s nearly $50 million dollar annual budget. In 2013, his work with the District’s Bond Committee helped to determine facility needs and get a $48 million bond referendum passed — the first successful bond election for the District in over 15 years.
Before his tenure in FBISD, Mr. Schuss also served as the Business Manager in Port Aransas ISD. Previous to that, his career path took him to the New Mexico State Legislature Finance Committee where he worked closely with the state’s Public Education Department. His career in education began in the classroom as an Economics and Secondary Mathematics teacher.
“I am humbled and honored to serve the teachers, students, parents and Flour Bluff community,” said Schuss. “I look forward to continue leading this district on a path to educational excellence.”
Mr. Schuss and his wife, Theresa, have two children, Canon and Kaia.
