Flour Bluff Hornet Band

The Flour Bluff Hornet Marching band has an extensive history of success while entertaining the crowds at football games and parades. Within the Hornet Marching band are auxiliary units of Color guard and twirlers which adds a dynamic visual aspect to the band’s performance. And of course, the FB Drumline is the engine that keeps the band going. Selection to these groups are by audition, director recommendation and demonstration of academic proficiency.

At the conclusion of marching band season students move into an indoor concert band setting. Selection into these group are by audition, director recommendation, and demonstration of academic proficiency. Members participate in the TMEA Region Orchestra and Region Band audition processes, UIL Marching Contest, UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest, and UIL Concert and Sight-reading Contest. This gives numerous performances both on and off campus.

The FB Band also features solos and small ensembles that prepare music year around. The jazz band is currently an activity that meets once a week after school to explore jazz styles of music and improvisation.
