Flour Bluff Primary School Library brought together the local community and families for a literacy event on Friday, May 5. The students of Flour Bluff Primary School along with their families enjoyed dinner and a night of literacy and learning in a camp-out style.
The event kicked-off with families, teachers, and community members selecting delicious books to read together from a book menu. Families also enjoyed dinner served by community members, teachers and former students. Campfire songs were sung while enjoying campsite desserts. Kids and adults stayed engaged in deep conversation about the universe and stars above with an iPad app and the knowledge gained from select guest speakers.
This version of a Reading Restaurant is designed to promote literacy, build family and school connections, foster community relationships and empower adults to foster a lifetime love of reading. The event is sponsored by Flour Bluff ISD Foundation for Educational Excellence, H-E-B and Flour Bluff Primary.
