Career and Technical Education (CTE) prepares students for high-demand careers by blending academic learning with real-world technical skills, supporting both college and workforce readiness. Guided by the Texas Education Agency’s Division of College, Career, and Military Preparation, Texas CTE programs offer structured pathways, certifications, and work-based learning aligned with national standards and today’s evolving economy.

P-TECH is an education model that blends high school, college, and career training, allowing students to earn a diploma, an associate degree, and industry certifications.
Endorsements / Programs of Study outlines career pathways, required courses, and certifications, helping students align their education with industry opportunities.
The 4-Year Plan outlines a student’s chosen endorsement and Program of Study, mapping required courses from freshman through senior year. It helps students stay on track for graduation while aligning their coursework with college, career, or workforce goals.
CTE Advisory Members are industry professionals who provide guidance and support to Career and Technical Education programs, ensuring they meet current workforce needs and standards.
Our Career and Technical Education staff bring real-world experience into the classroom, equipping students with practical skills, industry knowledge, and the confidence to pursue high-demand careers. Through hands-on instruction and meaningful mentorship, they help bridge the gap between education and the workforce.

The Mission of the Hornet Community is to foster and empower students to become confident, productive members of society who pursue excellence with integrity.
