Charging Policy

An automated system call out is made on Mondays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays for students who fall below a credit balance of $2.00 and for students who have a negative balance. If parents/guardians have a financial issue, please call 361-694-9022. Prepayments can be made at www.myschoolbucks.com. There is also an app called “My School Bucks” available for download on your smart phone. Applying for the Free and Reduced program is allowable at any time of the year should your financial situation change.

You may apply online or call 361-694-9022 for an application to be mailed to you or any school should have an application available. The application is processed the day it is received in the Central Kitchen, if all the information is complete. A “Courtesy” meal may be provided to students after the maximum number of charges have been accumulated. The Head Cashier in the Central Kitchen notifies parents when a courtesy meal has been given to a student. It remains the responsibility of students and parents to send money to school for meals.


  • Students in Grades 1-4 may charge a maximum of 7 days of Lunch meals
  • Students in Grades 5-6 may charge a maximum of 7 days of Lunch meals
  • Students in Grades 7-12 may charge a maximum of 5 days of Breakfast/Lunch meals

    The Mission of the Flour Bluff Independent School District Food Service Department is to enhance the learning environment and health of students by providing high quality and nutritious meals to our customers - the FBISD student body and staff. The FBISD Food Service Department is committed to ensure that every customer is offered high quality, well balanced, nutritious meals with friendly service. Please contact our office for any special needs or concerns. We look forward to a great year and thank you for your continued support and participation. The nutritional goal for school meals is to provide a large portion of the Recommended Dietary Allowances as specified by the National Research Council/National Academy of Sciences. (1/4 RDA at breakfast and 1/3 RDA at lunch.)

  • National School Lunch & Breakfast Programs

    Flour Bluff Schools participate in the National School Lunch Program and offers to students nutritionally balanced lunches, daily. The Free and Reduced Lunch Program is also available to FBISD students based on financial need.

Under USDA regulations, Flour Bluff School Nutrition Department assures that school nutrition program (SNP) benefits are made available and provided to all eligible individuals without discrimination on the basis of 1. Age 2. Color 3. Disability 4. National origin 5. Race 6. Sex (gender)

Nondiscrimination Statement

Flour Bluff ISD School Nutrition Department must include the nondiscrimination statement on all forms of communication and printed program information that are sent to or shared with students and student households. This includes, but is not limited to, menus, notifications, letters, and household meal applications. The nondiscrimination statement is issued by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and CEs must include the statement in its entirety. USDA provides this statement in English and Spanish. Please see below:

    In accordance with Federal civil rights law and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) civil rights regulations and policies, the USDA, its Agencies, offices, and employees, and institutions participating in or administering USDA programs are prohibited from discriminating based on race, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity in any program or activity conducted or funded by USDA.

    Persons with disabilities who require alternative means of communication for program information (e.g. Braille, large print, audiotape, American Sign Language, etc.), should contact the Agency (State or local) where they applied for benefits. Individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing or have speech disabilities may contact USDA through the Federal Relay Service at (800) 8778339.Additionally, program information may be made available in languages other than English.

    To file a program complaint of discrimination, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, (AD-3027) found online at: http://www.ascr.usda.gov/complaint_filing_cust.html, and at any USDA office, or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form. To request a copy of the complaint form, call (866) 632-9992. Submit your completed form or letter to USDA by: (1) mail: U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights, 1400 Independence Avenue, SW, Washington, D.C. 20250-9410; (2) fax: (202) 690-7442; or (3) email: program.intake@usda.gov.
