Flour Bluff ISD is proud to announce that our district has been selected as one of only two schools, out of nearly 70 applicants, to receive the Port of Corpus Christi Education Grant. This prestigious award brings $100,000 in funding to our schools and will play a key role in advancing opportunities for our students.

The grant will directly support the development of our Maritime Career & Technical Education (CTE) program, an initiative designed to connect Hornets with one of the region’s most vital industries. With this support, students will gain hands-on learning experiences and explore career paths in the maritime field—building the knowledge, skills, and confidence that will serve them well beyond graduation.

The Port of Corpus Christi Education Grant Program was created to strengthen education across the Coastal Bend by investing in initiatives that benefit students, educators, and local communities. By funding programs like ours, the Port is not only supporting career readiness but also encouraging innovation, environmental stewardship, and long-term growth that will shape the future workforce of our region.

For Flour Bluff ISD, this grant means more than new resources—it represents an exciting step forward in preparing our students for success in high-demand industries. As our Maritime CTE program grows, Hornets will have opportunities to explore real-world applications, engage with industry professionals, and discover pathways that connect their education to meaningful careers.

We are deeply grateful to the Port of Corpus Christi for this incredible investment in our district and our students. Their belief in the power of education and their commitment to the future of the Coastal Bend ensures that opportunities will continue to expand for generations of Hornets to come.

Thank you, Port of Corpus Christi, for partnering with Flour Bluff ISD to make a lasting impact through education. Together, we are building brighter futures.
