Newly Renovated Tennis Courts Open for Students and Community

Thanks to Bond 2025, Flour Bluff ISD has successfully completed the resurfacing of the district’s tennis courts. After a planned pause that allowed the State Runner Up Hornet Tennis Team to continue using the facilities during their season, work resumed and wrapped up shortly after Spring Break. The newly upgraded courts are now open and already being enjoyed by student athletes and community members.

CourTex, a respected Texas based specialist in tennis, pickleball, and multi use court construction, completed the resurfacing project. The company is known for producing high quality, durable surfaces designed to withstand heavy use and Texas weather.

The district’s courts remain a vital part of Flour Bluff athletics. They serve as the home of the State Runner Up Hornet Tennis Team and continue to host daily practices, home matches, and numerous tournaments throughout the school year. With the project now complete, the JV and Freshman teams are set to finish their season with three tournaments hosted on the newly resurfaced courts, giving young athletes an upgraded home environment for competition.

These tournaments, along with the ongoing use of the courts, bring meaningful economic benefits to the community by attracting visiting teams, families, and spectators who support local hotels, restaurants, and shops.

Beyond athletics, the improved courts are also an important community resource. When not reserved for school activities, they are open to the public for tennis and pickleball, with affordable membership options available for families, community members, and military families. Public pickleball players have already shared positive feedback, noting that they prefer the new light blue pickleball lines over the older ones for their improved visibility and cleaner appearance.

With the resurfacing project now complete, Flour Bluff ISD is proud to offer upgraded facilities that enhance the experience for both students and the broader Flour Bluff community.
