Bond 2025 Progress: Auditorium Roof Complete
The Fine Arts Auditorium roofing project is complete thanks to Bond 2025.
Legefy Roofing applied a silicone coating system over the existing auditorium roof, sealing it against water intrusion and extending its usable life. A coating system was selected over a full roof replacement, addressing the roof’s condition at a lower cost and with less disruption to the building. Silicone coatings are also well suited to coastal conditions, holding up against salt air and humidity better than some other coating types.
The coating forms a seamless, water-tight membrane and was applied directly over the existing roof deck, allowing the work to proceed without interrupting the auditorium’s regular use for performances and rehearsals.
The coating’s reflective surface also helps reduce cooling costs during the summer months. The system carries a manufacturer warranty covering its waterproofing performance.
The auditorium, originally built in 1981, is used by students and staff across the entire district, as well as the surrounding community, including Naval Air Station Corpus Christi. It regularly hosts band, choir, and theater competitions in addition to school and community events.
The roofing project follows the auditorium sound system upgrade completed in February 2026 by Sound Vibrations, also funded through Bond 2025.
