The Flour Bluff ISD District of Innovation (DOI) Committee has completed the process of developing a District of Innovation plan and is asking for feedback from the community on the proposed requested exemptions. The 36-member committee has met twice to develop a plan that would benefit the students, staff and district as a whole.
The proposed DOI plan includes exemptions to three state education requirements:
- Uniform School Start Date
- Minimum Minutes of Instruction and School Day Length
- Class Size Ratio
The District of Innovation plan and feedback survey was posted on October 9th and includes a 30-day feedback window for the public to provide input on the proposed plan. To review the plan and provide feedback, visit https://flourbluffschools.net/district-of-innovation/.
Following the 30-day feedback window, the DOI Committee will review the feedback information. In addition, a public meeting will be held in November for the community to provide input about the DOI plan. It is expected a final plan will be presented to the Flour Bluff ISD Board of Trustees during the December Regular Board Meeting.
