Flour Bluff ISD has named Einar Phillips as the Flour Bluff High School Band Director. Phillips is a proud Flour Bluff High School graduate. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi. He began his career in teaching in 2006 in Edgewood ISD. He has continued to gain teaching experience through multiple opportunities with organizations like SeaWorld and the fire service. He has also taught in Nocona ISD and Corpus Christi ISD.
In 2018, Phillips was named the Driscoll MS Teacher of the Year. In 2002, he was named a Drum Corps World Champion. When Mr. Phillips is not working at the school, he’s helping his wife, Stacey, raise their four children: Paige, Micah, Oliver and Finn.
Mr. Phillips is excited about returning to where his love of music began and to share that passion with the next generation of Flour Bluff students and community.
Mr. Phillips replaces long-time band director, Victor Lara, who retired at the end of the school year.
