Eleven Flour Bluff High School graduating seniors were recognized during a special ceremony for their commitment to join a branch of the United States armed forces following graduation. The inaugural event included a presentation of the All Service Color Guard by the Flour Bluff High School NJROTC. Each student who is enlisting into a military service branch after high school was gifted a stole to wear during graduation from the respective military branch recruiter. One student received an Army ROTC scholarship to the University of Texas-Arlington and another student was recognized for his appointment to the United States Naval Academy.
“We commend these young men and women who are taking the brave step to serve our great nation through the military,” said Velma Soliz-Garcia, Superintendent of Schools.
