Flour Bluff campus administrators and parents teamed up and participated in the 34th Annual Parent & Family Engagement Conference on February 13. A total of thirty-nine parents and grandparents attended the conference which was held at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds in Robstown and hosted by the Education Service Center, Region 2.
During the event, Special Agent Heath Hardwick, from Homeland Security addressed the six hundred plus attendees on the subject of “Cyber Safety in a Tech Savvy World”. In addition, Dr. Steve Bain, Associate Professor at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, talked to the audience about “Promoting the Social/Emotional Health of Children: Parental Strategies”. Other speakers included Heather McQueen and Christa Rasche from the Education Service Center, Region 2. Their talks were on “Reading into Resilience” and “Life After Graduation: Your Role in the Transition Planning Process.”
