The family of Andre Fuqua, a Flour Bluff High School graduate and track athlete, has donated $10,000 to Flour Bluff ISD. The donation comes one year after Andre was killed in an auto accident.

“During Andre’s time at Flour Bluff, he represented our school and athletic program with ‘Class, Pride & Heart’ on the field and in the classroom,” said Coach Chris Steinbruck, Flour Bluff ISD Athletic Director. “Andre also devoted his time to our summer track program and will be dearly missed.”

The monetary donation will support the District’s Junior High and High School Cross Country programs.

“The funding will go directly to support our young hornets who aspire to excel in their sport,”said Steinbruck. “Andre’s legacy will live on through the accomplishments of our athletes.”

Beginning this year the Mile Run at the Flour Bluff Intercoastal Relays will be dedicated in Andre’s memory as the Andre Fuqua Mile Run.
