During the state competition of the Texas Math and Science Coaches Association (TMSCA) in early May, Flour Bluff Intermediate and Junior High Math and Science Teams once again swept the competition and came home state winners. This is the 34th consecutive year for the team to win the title of State Champions.
In addition to winning the state competition, the team also had the highest score overall for all teams in both the 5A and 6A Divisions, a first in the organization’s history. The team also had the highest score in the state in three categories including Team Number Sense, Calculator and Math. They took third place in Science.
For individual awards, the Flour Bluff Intermediate and JH Math and Science teams had seven students place first in an event out of a possible 12 events. Over 38 students placed in the top 10 of their event. For a complete listing of all individual and team results, see below.
