Flour Bluff ISD has begun the search process for a new Superintendent of Schools. The application window for individuals interested in the District’s top job opened March 1 and will close Monday, March 25.

In February, Flour Bluff ISD Interim Superintendent, Joe Kelley, held campus and community input meetings to gather information on what Flour Bluff ISD employees and community members want to see in the next superintendent of schools. In addition, an online survey was posted during much of February to offer individuals an online platform to provide input. In total, the District received over 200 responses on the characteristics of a new superintendent and the areas the individual should focus on.

According to the superintendent search timeline, the Flour Bluff ISD Board of Trustees will interview candidates in early May and name a lone-finalist. Following a 21-day waiting period, required by state law, it is anticipated the Board will name the new superintendent of schools at the May Regular Board Meeting of the FBISD Board of Trustees.

It is expected the District will have a new superintendent in place by July 1.
