November 3, 2021 (Corpus Christi, Texas) – Flour Bluff ISD is excited to launch the Hornet Town Square on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at 6:30 p.m. The Town Square is being developed on the front lawn of the FB Elementary campus on Waldron Road. The vision and goal of this great space are to create a shared area for the community and FBISD to enhance outdoor learning experiences, family time, and a safe place for students to gather.
Since April, Superintendent Velma Soliz-Garcia and her team have met with student ambassador groups and faculty and staff committees to develop this great project. “The goal in creating the Town Square is to introduce outdoor instruction, honor small-town traditions, and come together with students, family, and community members,” explained Mrs. Soliz-Garcia. The students came together and wanted to introduce the Hornet Town Square to our community while honoring our Veterans for Veterans Day.
On Tuesday, November 9, Flour Bluff ISD would like to invite our students, families, and the community to join us for the official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of Flour Bluff ISD’s Hornet Town Square. The ribbon-cutting will promptly be followed by presentations to recognize and appreciate our active and retired military. We will have guest appearances by students from all Flour Bluff schools. Featured exhibitions and performances will include Flour Bluff High School ROTC, High School Chamber Choir, Intermediate Choir, ECC and Primary students, and the Corpus Christi Veterans Band. We look forward to expanding Hornet Town Square soon. Stay tuned for ways you can make donations to purchase benches and other items to honor FBISD alumni and staff who have served our district. See you at our Hornet Town Square!
