Flour Bluff ISD is launching a parent speaker series that will address various topics geared at providing resources to ensure student success. The Parent Speaker Series is launching on February 3rd with speaker, Dr. Pethick, who will be conducting an online presentation about the brain, behavior and learning. Dr. Pethick is a Behavior and Autism Spectrum Disorder Consultant for the Education Service Center, Region 10.

“We’re excited to launch the parent speaker series program,” said Dr. Allison Schaum, Chief Academic Officer for Flour Bluff ISD. “Our goal is to provide resources for parents to help their child thrive and succeed. We look forward to having more parent speaker sessions in the coming months.”

At this time, all parent speaker sessions will be held during the evening and online via Zoom. The District plans to provide additional speaker sessions with varying topics periodically throughout the school year. Sessions will be recorded and hosted on the District’s YouTube channel for parents who are unable to attend the event.

Parents interested in hearing from Dr. Pethick are asked to register for the event.  The February Parent Speaker session will be held via Zoom. Once you register for the event, you will be emailed the Zoom meeting information. Following Dr. Pethick’s presentation, Dr. Pethick and FBISD campus counselors will be on-hand to speak with parents one-on-one, answer any follow-up questions and provide additional information.
