Flour Bluff ISD is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Bend. Beginning Monday, November 4, the after-school program in Flour Bluff ISD will be run exclusively by the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Bend. The change will provide cheaper, after-school care for parents, enhanced offerings for students and expand the program to allow for more students to take part.
“The Latchkey Program with the City of Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation Department has provided our students and parents after school care for many years,” said Flour Bluff ISD Superintendent Dr. David Freeman. “However, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Bend is going to expand the offering by providing more services for our families after school and at a much lower cost.”
Expanded services include tutoring opportunities, a snack and hot meal for each child and increased number of students the program can accommodate. In addition, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Bend will offer the program during the District’s Thanksgiving and Spring break holidays and summer.
In the coming weeks, Flour Bluff ISD students will receive information from the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Bend on the enhanced program. Current after-school services will not be disrupted, and the organization is looking forward to a seamless transition.
“The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Bend is excited to partner with the Four Bluff ISD,” said Kim Barrientos, Chief Executive Officer of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Bend. “As an organization, we look forward to serving the youth with high quality programs.”
The new after-school program fee will be $75 a month and a one-time $25 Boys & Girls Clubs membership fee.
