Flour Bluff ISD is proud to announce that its NJROTC program has been recognized as a Distinguished Unit with Academic Honors for the 2025–26 school year, celebrating the program’s exceptional achievement during the 2024–25 school year.
To date, the program has earned 27 State Championships and 12 National Titles, reflecting the dedication of its cadets, instructors, and the Hornet community. The award, given to the top 30 percent of NJROTC units, recognizes excellence in administration, academics, military proficiency, and host school support.
Flour Bluff NJROTC’s success underscores FBISD’s commitment to military-connected programs and its strong relationship with the local military community, including Naval Air Station Corpus Christi and the Corpus Christi Army Depot. Through rigorous training and competitive success, cadets develop leadership skills, academic excellence, and strong ties to the military community.
As part of this prestigious designation, Flour Bluff NJROTC is authorized to nominate three cadets for admission to each of the U.S. service academies—the Naval Academy, Military Academy, and Air Force Academy. These nominations provide cadets a unique opportunity to pursue a future as commissioned officers while continuing their commitment to leadership, service, and academic achievement. This honor highlights the program’s ability to prepare students for the highest levels of military and academic excellence.
