The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Bend held a ribbon-cutting for the new Dr. David Freeman Teen Center in Flour Bluff ISD earlier this week. The program was a vision of former superintendent Dr. David Freeman and was named in his honor. A group of Flour Bluff High School students attended the event and enjoyed participating in the many activities the Center offers students daily.
The new Teen Center is especially for teens, filled with activities they love to do, including foosball, pool table, Xbox, and Netflix. BGCCB staff is also available to assist students with homework needs, and the Center has laptops available for students to use.
The Teen Center is open for Flour Bluff ISD students from ages 13-18, Monday through Friday from 4 – 7 p.m., near the Hornet Spirit Shop and SDGC facilities. Parents can register their teen for the program via the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Coastal Bend website, by calling 853.2505, or by emailing Elisa Amador at eamador@bgccb.org. The cost is $50 per teen per semester.
