Tennis Court Upgrades Underway
Thanks to Bond 2025, Flour Bluff ISD has resumed resurfacing the district’s tennis courts after a planned pause that allowed the State Runner‑Up Hornet Tennis Team to continue using the facilities during their season. Now that work is back underway, the project is on track to be completed shortly after Spring Break.
CourTex, a respected Texas‑based specialist in tennis, pickleball, and multi‑use court construction, is leading the resurfacing effort. Known for producing high‑quality, durable surfaces that withstand heavy play and Texas weather, CourTex’s expertise ensures the upgraded courts will offer long-lasting, safe playing conditions for both student‑athletes and the community.
The district’s courts are a vital part of Flour Bluff athletics. They serve as the home of the State Runner‑Up Hornet Tennis Team and host daily practices, home matches, and numerous tournaments throughout the school year. These tournaments bring significant economic benefits to the community by drawing visiting teams, families, and spectators who support local hotels, restaurants, and shops.
Beyond athletics, the courts are also an important community resource. When not in use for school activities, they are open to the public for tennis and pickleball, with affordable membership options available for families, community members, and military families.
The resurfacing project is expected to be completed shortly after Spring Break, providing refreshed, improved facilities for both students and the broader Flour Bluff community.
