Thirty-eight Flour Bluff High School art students participated in Texas Art Education Association VASE (Visual Art Scholastic Event) competition on Saturday, February 11, at Tuloso-Midway High School. There were 428 works of art juried overall for Region 2. FBHS students received 43 superior ratings and medals for their artwork.

Five FBHS students and seven pieces of artwork qualified for state and are advancing to the VASE competition April 27 & 28 in San Marcos. In addition to the students competing at state, they will also participate in professional workshops, lectures, demonstrations and sketching opportunities. Students will have an opportunity to learn and grow artistically during the two-day event.
