The 6th Annual Malaquite Beach Fun Run sponsored by the Flour Bluff ISD Cross Country and Girls Track program is set for Saturday, December 14. The run is open to children and adults and will be held at Malaquite Beach on the Padre Island National Seashore. Event capacity is 400 runners.
Registration is $30 per runner and includes a t-shirt. Flour Bluff students and staff have a discounted registration fee of $20 (t-shirt included). Registration deadline is Monday, November 25.
Age divisions include:
- Div I Girls/Boys (Including Div. 1P – Parent): Age (10 and under) Distance (2 miles)
- Div. II Girls/Boys: Age (11-14) Distance (5K)
- Div. III Girls/Boys: Age (15-18) Distance (5K)
- Div. IV Women/Men: Age (19-35) Distance (5K)
- Div. V Women/Men: Age (36-54) Distance (5K)
- Div. VI Women/Men: Age (55 and up) Distance (5K)
Awards will be given for the top three runners in each division.
Packet pick-up will be held Thursday, December 12, from 4 – 6:30 p.m. at the Flour Bluff HS Varsity Gym located next to Hornet Stadium.
Race Start time on December 14 is 7:30 a.m. The Padre Island National Seashore charges a park entrance fee of $10 per vehicle which is not included as part of the registration fee.
