Flour Bluff ISD Board of Trustees

The Flour Bluff Board of Trustees meets in regular session on the last Thursday of each month with the exception of November and December. Due to the holidays, the November and December meetings are combined into one meeting on the first Thursday of December. All meetings are held in the Board Room of the FBISD Administration Building, 2505 Waldron Road, beginning at 6 p.m.

Board meeting agendas are posted on the front window of the Administration Building and online at least 72 hours prior to the start of the meeting. Special meetings may be called at any time as long as the agenda is posted at least 72 hours prior to the meeting.

The public is always invited and encouraged to attend meetings. If a member of the public is interested in speaking to the Board, he or she may sign up on the indicated registration sheet and may speak to the Board for three minutes. The Board will take no action on these comments; however, the Board may refer the issue to the Superintendent for review.

Board Members Information

The Board agenda usually reflects:

  • Routine items which are presented to the Board each year at about the same time
  • Items which relate to the goals of the District
  • Items which are coming from the deliberations of District and/or campus committees
  • District policies to be reviewed or new polices to be implemented

The Board of Trustees reviews and approves items recommended by the Superintendent, often following prior discussions or reports. Meeting agendas and packet details are accessible online starting the Monday before each Thursday meeting, and proceedings can be monitored via internet-capable devices, with iPads and internet access provided as needed; minutes are posted online after approval.

Flour Bluff ISD BE (Local) Board Policy states:

Regular meetings of the Board, with the exception of the meetings in the months of November and December, shall normally be held on the last Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m.  A combined November and December meeting of the Board may be held the first Thursday of December at 6:00 p.m.

When determined necessary and for the convenience of Board members, the Board President may change the date, time, or location of a regular meeting with proper notice
