Bond 2025: One Year of Progress

Thank You, Flour Bluff ISD Community

On May 3, 2025, the Flour Bluff, Padre Island, Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, and Corpus Christi Army Depot community came together to approve Bond 2025. That decision reflected shared community values, careful planning, fiscal responsibility, and a commitment to investing wisely in facilities that serve both students and the broader community.

One year later, Flour Bluff ISD is grateful for that trust and proud of the progress made. From safety enhancements and infrastructure upgrades to water‑saving initiatives and long‑term planning, Bond 2025 has remained focused on financial responsibility while addressing real and pressing needs. In our coastal region, where water conservation is increasingly critical, many projects were intentionally designed to reduce water usage, lower long‑term maintenance costs, and protect shared resources.

FBISD facilities also serve as community facilities. District spaces are used daily by students, families, military partners, and local organizations. Tennis courts, the Natatorium, and the Junior High track are open for public use. The United States Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard regularly utilize the Natatorium for training, and youth sports leagues and community organizations rely on district gyms, auditoriums, stadiums, and athletic fields throughout the year. Bond 2025 investments help ensure these shared spaces remain safe, reliable, and well maintained.

Completed Projects

Transportation Upgrades
New camera systems have been installed on district school buses, enhancing safety for students, drivers, and the community. In addition, five new International diesel buses have been purchased and placed into service, improving reliability and reducing long‑term maintenance costs.

Baseball and Softball Field Improvements
Hellas Construction completed turf installations at the baseball and softball fields. The project also included new dugouts constructed by Ewing Construction, along with flagpoles, scoreboards, fencing, and safety netting. Additional seating and improved sightlines were added at the softball field. These upgrades allow for year‑round use, conserve thousands of gallons of water annually, reduce maintenance demands, and enhance the experience for athletes and spectators.

Auditorium Sound System Upgrade
Installed by Sound Vibrations, the fully upgraded auditorium sound system now supports concerts, theater productions, ceremonies, and community events with improved clarity and performance.

Tennis Court Resurfacing
CourTex Construction completed resurfacing of the tennis courts, which are now open to students and the community. The courts support the State Runner‑Up Hornet Tennis team and expand access for community tennis and pickleball.

Utility Line Relocation
LJA Engineering completed relocation of water and wastewater lines, providing critical infrastructure to support current projects and prepare district sites for future Bond 2025 construction.

Projects Underway

District‑Wide Traffic Improvements
In partnership with the City of Corpus Christi, traffic improvements are underway near FBISD campuses. School zone flashers and signage are also being relocated to improve safety and traffic flow during peak times.

Ready Set Go Site Demolition
The former Ready Set Go buildings have been removed, clearing the site for future district use. Portable buildings from the site are in the process of being removed.

Classroom Technology Enhancements
Interactive classroom displays have been delivered and are being installed across Pre‑K through sixth‑grade campuses, providing modern tools that support instruction and student engagement.
