The week of March 6-10 was recognized across the District as Texas Public Schools Week. Campuses hosted activities throughout the week to shine the spotlight on the great things going on in Flour Bluff ISD schools. On Thursday, the Early Childhood Center (ECC) hosted Career Day and celebrated Dr. Seuss Day by inviting community members to read to the students. In addition, the students had the opportunity to dress up in attire from their career of choice.
Employees from Navy Army Community Credit Union were on-hand as part of the United Way of the Coastal Bend’s Success by 6 Coalition. The program is made-up of various community agencies and organizations that work with children from birth to six years of age to promote early literacy and a life-long love of reading. The representatives from Navy Army Community Credit Union visited a number of classrooms to read classic Dr. Seuss books in celebration of Dr. Seuss Day.
Parents of ECC students were also on-hand to read to and talk to students about their careers.
