Five Flour Bluff High School seniors were recently each awarded an Outstanding Student Scholarship by Flint Hills Resources. The students were recognized during the company’s annual Outstanding Scholars of South Texas Recipient Banquet. The scholarships will help each of these students advance their education following graduation.
The following Flour Bluff High School seniors were recipients of a Flint Hills Resources Outstanding Student Scholarship:
- Austin Esqueda – $500
- Steven McMullen – $500
- Tristen Osborn – $500
- Alonzo Torres – $500
- Dante Soria – $1,500
Scholarship recipients are nominated by their schools and selected based on their academic records, an essay on the concept of principled entrepreneurship, demonstrated leadership skills and participation in their communities. Recipients must also plan to pursue a field of study related to science, technology, engineering or mathematics.
