The Lunch and Learn: College & Military Sessions program is vital to help prepare our graduating seniors for college and corporate recruiting. District staff member, Shayd Speed, coordinates with guest speakers to come in and give presentations to students during lunch where they can listen and learn. University Admissions Representatives will come in and give a presentation about their programs, student life, and admission information. Corporate recruiters will come in and do a few sessions on interviewing skills.
This was the case recently when the Talent Acquisition team from Whataburger Corporate came in and helped students navigate the interview process and sharpen their interviewing skills. The Whataburger team shared a little about themselves and their own journey then split the class in half to work on mock interviews. In this event the students were able to learn, have fun, and earn Whataburger swag.
