Nineteen Flour Bluff students are set to attend Morgan’s Wonderland in late April, thanks to the generosity of the Corpus Christi Moose Lodge 734. The organization presented a check to Flour Bluff Junior High and Intermediate campuses for students to attend Morgan’s Wonderland, a fully accessible outdoor recreational facility for individuals with special needs.

“The Moose Lodge Organization wanted to fund an unmet need at Flour Bluff ISD,” said Virginia Welsh, Woman of the Moose Lodge Officer and Flour Bluff ISD Homebound Teacher. “We held a fajita dinner and set a goal to raise $1,500.”

The supporters of the Moose Lodge surpassed the $1,500 goal and raised $2,288 to fund the students and their parents for a day at Morgan’s Wonderland in San Antonio.

“It was more than we expected,” said Joanna Cardona, special education teacher at Flour Bluff Junior High. “I’m thrilled for my students to get this opportunity. They are excited and have been looking at the Morgan Wonderland website and picking out the various activities they want to take part-in during their day at the theme park.”

Morgan’s Wonderland has rides and attractions that are fully accessible for all special needs and accommodations. The theme park includes a water park, carousel, a creative play area, pirate island playground and an off-road adventure ride, just to name a few of the attractions.

In addition to the funding from the Moose Lodge, H-E-B has also provided funding for entry fees, hats and backpacks for the students.
