Flour Bluff Independent School District announces successful passage of the 2025 Bond Election

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

May 3, 2025 (Corpus Christi, Texas) – Flour Bluff Independent School District is proud to announce the successful passage of the 2025 Bond Election. With support from across our ISD community — including Flour Bluff, Padre Island, NAS Corpus Christi, and the Corpus Christi Army Depot — voters approved all three bond propositions, paving the way for critical improvements that will benefit our students for years to come.

Superintendent Chris Steinbruck expressed his deep appreciation to the community for standing behind public education and believing in the future of Flour Bluff ISD.

“The results of this election reflect a community that cares deeply about the future of Flour Bluff ISD,” said Steinbruck. “For over 130 years, this district has been built on tradition, high expectations, and a commitment to doing what’s best for kids. That kind of success doesn’t happen without the collective efforts of our teachers, coaches, bus drivers, custodians, cafeteria workers, paraprofessionals, administrators, support staff, volunteers, and parents—each one plays a vital role in shaping the lives of our students.”

“This was a true team effort,” Steinbruck continued. “From the very beginning, our Long-Range Planning Committee invested their time, experience, and thoughtfulness to help identify the most pressing needs across the district. Their work, alongside input from staff, parents, students, and community members, helped guide this process and ensure transparency every step of the way.

The 2025 Bond is made up of three propositions designed to address aging infrastructure, improve safety, and expand student opportunities in Academics, Fine Arts, Athletics, CTE, and NJROTC:

  • Proposition A focuses on safety, infrastructure, and critical campus upgrades across the district.
  • Proposition B provides new and updated Career & Technical Education (skilled trades) spaces, Naval Junior ROTC renovations, Fine Arts improvements, and improved Physical education spaces program
  • Proposition C addresses safety improvements and renovations to Hornet Stadium — including increased ADA accessibility, additional seating, and new press box for our students to safely utilize.

“As a proud military community, we understand the importance of service, stewardship, and working together for something greater than ourselves. From the Island to the Bluff, from NAS to the Army Depot, voters took the time to learn, ask questions, and make the decision they felt was best. Whether you voted yes or no, I’m thankful for your engagement—and we’re committed to moving forward in a way that honors the values, voices, and priorities of this entire community.”

With the bond now approved, Flour Bluff ISD will begin working closely with staff, community members, and design teams to develop detailed timelines and next steps. Updates will be shared through the district website, board meetings, and ongoing stakeholder communications.

Flour Bluff ISD remains committed to being responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars, transparent in every step, and focused on ensuring every Hornet is College, Career or Military ready.
