NJROTC Wins 18th National Championship
The Flour Bluff High School Naval Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) SeaHornets have once again demonstrated what class, pride, and heart looks like on the national stage, capturing their 18th National Championship at the National High School Drill Team Championships held in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Competing at the Division I level, the highest tier of team competition, the SeaHornets faced elite programs from across all military service branches in the nation’s largest all‑service drill competition. The event brought together more than 150 teams and thousands of cadets for a two‑day national showcase of precision, discipline, and leadership.
On that stage, Flour Bluff delivered. Across drill, inspection, and academic events, the SeaHornets displayed the preparation, focus, and unity that define championship programs.
Their results reflect that level of excellence:

This championship caps an extraordinary year for the program. Flour Bluff NJROTC captured its 18th National Championship and won its 27th State Championship. The unit was also named Navy Area 18’s Most Outstanding Unit and once again earned the prestigious designation of Distinguished Unit with Academic Honors, an honor that this year resulted in five additional military academy appointments for the 2026–2027 school year. These appointments underscore the program’s exceptional academic and leadership foundation and bring the total number of military academy appointments earned by the NJROTC program to nine.
Distinguished Unit with Academic Honors is an official Navy designation that evaluates the total strength of an NJROTC program, including academics, leadership development, inspections, discipline, and community involvement.
Eighteen national titles do not happen by chance. They are built through daily commitment, discipline, and service, values deeply rooted in Flour Bluff ISD’s military‑connected community. Serving generations of families from Naval Air Station Corpus Christi and Corpus Christi Army Depot, the Flour Bluff NJROTC SeaHornets reflect the district’s commitment to military‑connected students, carrying forward a tradition of excellence that stands among the best in the nation.
